SwAy x Willdabeast - Crossing Boarders EP (Superbest Records, 2016)

“Crossing Boarders” is a collaborative EP from two up-and-coming producer duos. It features Willdabeast (WA), who doubles as the horn section for Michal Menert & The Pretty Fantastics, as well as SwAy (BC), one of Canada’s best Electrosoul acts. The album tells the story of relationship tribulations, and triumphs. It begins with the track “Cuz I Need You Baby”, a declaration from one to another. This is the moment in a relationship when you express mutual and returned feelings of desire and passion, realizing your codependence. We’re then taken to track 2, “On My Mind”, representing part of a relationship that everyone has felt. Maybe one person is traveling or often away then appears in every song, picture or place we see. In the ups-and-downs of close relationships, a time when the other person is not around is when they're constantly on our mind. Some would say this is a true indication of love. Finally, the album ends with the song “Peace Offering”. Perhaps this person was on our mind was because a fight happened. This peace offering represents making amends and giving the situation your all. This is about getting down to brass tacks, fighting for what you believe in, and never giving up.”
